Boeing Starliner to Launch First Astronaut Mission for NASA

Mission to Commence as Early as May 2024

Historic Launch Preparations Underway at Space Launch Complex

WEB Boeing announced the anticipated launch date for its first-ever Starliner astronaut mission with NASA, marking a significant milestone for the spacecraft's development. The critical test flight, dubbed CFT, aims to demonstrate the Starliner's readiness to transport humans to and from the International Space Station (ISS).

WEB The launch campaign will commence 45 days before liftoff with the stacking of an Atlas V rocket by United Launch Alliance at Space Launch Complex 41 in Florida. The launch of the Atlas V and Starliner spacecraft is targeted for May 6, 2024.

WEB Notably, the Starliner's crew access tower is the first of its kind to be constructed on Florida's Space Coast since the Apollo era. This new infrastructure will facilitate the safe and efficient boarding of astronauts prior to launch.

WEB Additional updates and potential revisions to the launch date will be provided as they become available. The success of CFT is pivotal in assessing the Starliner's ability to serve as a reliable and safe transportation system for astronauts on missions to the ISS and potentially beyond.
